I am Assistant Professor of Design and Innovation at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group. AtImperial I teache ‘Management of Design’ to MSc and MBA students. I received my PhD in Management from Bocconi University, Milan. I was also a visiting scholar at the Sloan School of Management of the MIT, Boston.
My research focuses on how material artifacts and practices influence cognitive processes – including sensemaking and sensegiving , categorization, and perceptions of organizational and professional identities – within organizations. I investigate these themes in design-based companies – e.g., Alessi, Kartell, Alfa Romeo, Piaggio, and Ducati – and in Product and Service design consulting firms – Continuum, IDEO, Live Work, Engine Service Design, etc.
My research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, the International Journal of Management Reviews, Organizational Dynamics, and the International Small Business Journal. I am a member of the Editorial Board of the European Management Journal.
